• Google has finally finished rolling out its October 2023 Core Update since it started doing so on October 5.
  • This is the third Core Update, after March and August, for this year.
  • As usual, this core update will change the algorithm to better the Google Search Engine results page (SERP).

If you are a webmaster, you will fear Google Core updates. This is because most websites get severely affected by it, decreasing their overall traffic and their search engine rankings.

Now, Google has done it again – for the third time this year. The new Google October 2023 Core Update is now live, bringing with it many new Google algorithm changes. This comes right after the Google October 2023 Spam Update

So do you know how to have your website constantly rank higher on the Google SERPs? Then you have to know what changes this update brings!

Here are all the major algorithm changes introduced by the Google October 2023 Core Update:

Helpful Content Still Reigns Supreme

In order to improve the search results for Google users, Google has stressed the importance of helpful content. If your content is unique and packed with the most helpful pieces of information people would want, it should rank at the top of the SERP.

More Emphasis On E-E-A-T

E-E-A-T (Expertise, Experience, Authority, and Trustworthiness) has become one of the most notable ranking factors. If the content of your website (especially blogs, online magazines, etc.) has niche-expert writers with years of experience, you can expect Google to identify it and make content produced by them rank higher. Authentic and 100% original content will rank highest.

User Experience (UX) Matters A Lot More

If your website looks very unprofessional and has lots of issues like slow page load speeds, Google will penalize you. Therefore, having a good website will also boost your rankings in the SERP.
