Meta’s Facebook And Instagram Get Pricey Ad-Free Subscriptions

• Meta has finally introduced its ad-free subscription plans for Instagram and Facebook. 
• This plan allows you to remove all ads from these apps for a monthly payment.
• However, they have introduced this plan only in the EU, EEA, and Switzerland so far.

Every social media app that shows ads on its app and website has always included a subscription plan for users to completely skip them. The most popular here is YouTube, with its YouTube Premium subscription plans. 

Now, Meta has joined in on the fray too. The company announced new ad-free subscription models for users of Instagram and Facebook.

However, I hated the fact that there are two subscription plans, depending on the platform you are using. If you use your computer to access Facebook and Instagram, then you must pay  €9.99 per month. 

However, if you use the mobile versions, you have to pay more –  €12.99 per month. Apple has stated that they have done so because the Google and Apple app stores for smartphones charge fees for keeping the app on their stores.

Plus, there are several requirements here as well, as well as regional exclusivity (so far). For starters, you can only pay for these subscriptions if you are 18 years or older. In addition, this is only applicable to one account. If you have multiple,. Then you must pay  €6 (computer) or  €8 (mobile) for each extra account.

On the other hand, these plans are only available for EU and EEA (European Economic Area) countries, plus Switzerland. Meta plans to roll these plans globally by April 2024.
