• The AI-powered Google Search Generative Experience will soon show you ads based on what you searched.
  • Google will introduce ads in it to help them earn revenue with SGE.
  • The company is currently fixated on turning SGE as a replacement for Google Search in the near future.

Google has been developing its new AI-powered Search Generative Experience (SGE) with full force.

This year, it has introduced new features like being able to generate AI-powered images like Midjourney AI, along with facing several complaints stating it might use your site’s content bypassing Google Extended.

Now, it seems Google has a bigger plan of making SGE as the direct alternative to Google Search. Therefore, recent reports indicate that Google will soon show ads on content and images generated using SGE.

Analysts explain that this seems to be the most logical next step for Google regarding SGE. SGE is a Google product, and the company has to monetize it somehow.

Therefore, displaying sponsored ads on its search results seems to be the best way to do so.

Now, if you have SGE turned on, you might soon see ads being displayed at the bottom of the results generated using SGE.

However, we don’t know how many ads will be shown this way. It’s a possibility that a few ads will be shown with each result generated using SGE – potentially cluttering it.

Therefore, as long as Google shows only a few to keep the space less cluttered with annoying ads, I will be happy. As long as it doesn’t ruin the user experience, no one will mind it.

Google has mentioned no release date for this feature, but I expect this to start sometime in early 2024. Follow this website to stay updated on all related news!
