Sorry, but nothing matched your search "". Please try again with some different keywords.
Let’s be honest.
The Google Maps listing that you’ve just entered your business to can be a crucial marketing tool for you. But, I’m pretty sure you don’t know how to use it to your advantage, though.
Right?
Well, it’s okay, though. When I first started my journey in the world of digital marketing, I didn’t even have any idea about Google Maps, let alone ranking it on the listing.
It took time for me to learn a little about it, but I did it successfully. And, I’m pretty sure that you can become an expert on it as well. Just bear with me till the end.
According to a report, almost 67% of the consumer base tends to utilize Google Maps as their preferred navigation tool. Thus, if you have listed your business there, it’d be much easier for you to improve your visibility on the internet.
Apart from this, if you have a Google Maps-optimized page, you’ll also show up in any kind of relevant search available out there. However, that’s not where it ends, though.
Sometimes, when you search for something on Google, it’ll always show the best three results from Google maps. So, if you’re ranking higher there, your name might be present here, too.
If you want to Rank in Google Maps, only focusing on your website’s SEO won’t be enough for you.
Keep reading this section till the end to know more about it.
To begin with, you’ll need to create a Google Business Profile as soon as possible. It’s pretty easy to do, too. Just search your business’ name on Google and verify your listing.
If the name of your business isn’t available anywhere, then log into your account and edit it accordingly. Update the name, location, and everything else Google’s been asking you.
Once you’re done, you can click on the submit button. Google will cross-reference the details accordingly and then update your profile whenever it’s ready.
If you didn’t do this already, now it’s time for you to add your business to the Google Maps list. Like the previous one, it’s pretty easy to do too.
Here’s what you need to do in this aspect –
Note To Remember: Almost anyone in the world can add a business organization to Google Maps. Hence, before you include your company there, it might be best to check if it already exists there or not. If it is, just update the details and you’ll be able to use it accordingly.
Updating and claiming your GBP listing is only the beginning. Now, it’s time to sit down and optimize the page in the best possible manner. And, in this case, the first step to do so will be to post linked content on the same. Let me tell you why.
Usually, Google tends to reward active businesses with excellent visibility in Google Maps. So, it’s important to post content regularly on your GBP profile. The update can include a hosted event or two, offer links to a relevant blog post, or provide a piece of general information.
If you want to optimize your business even further, make sure to incorporate an image or two somewhere. It’ll boost your viewer engagement and prompt them to share it.
If you want to become a well-known name in your locality, doing a local SEO audit should be the way to go. You can start your journey by keeping an on the keywords you need to use on your blog section to optimize it. Apart from that, writing new content will be important too.
Once you’re done with it, you’ll need to shift your focus on the structure of your site. It must be enriched in locally-oriented, relevant, intent-driven keywords. Besides, it needs to feature a logical external and an internal link to it as well.
Google usually rewards websites, which answer local searches within a few clicks. Thus, you should try to optimize your platform keeping that in mind. Additionally, don’t forget to keep a close eye on the website loading speed. It’ll be helpful for ranking as well.
If you’re done with listing your business, here’s something you can do. Search your business on Google Maps, take the link of your address from there, and embed it on your website.
To make it even more precise and optimized, we’ll ask you to paste it to the Contact Us page. It will prompt your consumer to visit your physical store and get to talk to you directly.
Now, this can help you out in two different ways.
First, you’ll be able to direct your consumer right to your physical address. Therefore, it’ll be easier for you to talk to, convince, and turn them into your potential customers.
Second, as you have submitted the address on your website, Google will consider it as a way of making the “contacting” convenient for your consumers. Thus, your website’s overall SEO performance will increase massively and it’ll rank higher on Google.
So, hopefully, you’ve understood why putting your website on Google Maps is important for your business. What are you waiting for, then?
Open Google Maps on your browser or mobile phone and start integrating your organization there today.
This way, it’ll be easier for you to redirect your audience to your physical store and create the right sort of relationship with them. Good luck!
